NIV, a wine bar on Atlixco Street, opened a little over a year ago as another option for drinks in the Condesa, especially if you are interested in wines, from those made entirely by women to rare labels, in the best sense of the word. Its menu, both drinks and first and second courses, has the ideal length to try two or three dishes and share them with the whole table. NIV is intimate and cozy, not only for a date but also to strengthen that friendship of years.

On the occasion of the A Qué Me Sabes festival, NIV created a special three-course menu plus a drink that will only be available this season. Like all the participating places, the menu is designed to celebrate restaurant week (eating in and celebrating): not only NIV, but many others such as Café de Nadie, Fideo Gordo or Mari Gold, more than unique dishes, created unrepeatable experiences, like when you dream about what you just ate.

To start the experience, you are greeted with a sort of old fashioned. With a little orange color, the signature drink -entitled Macario- from the special menu of A Qué Me Sabes x NIV contains Woodford reserve, piloncillo syrup and marigold flower bitters, which gives it a strong and fresh flavor. Not for nothing is it the drink of the fall season. Next, the feta cheese bechamel croquettes with roasted cherry and baba ganoush ignite the appetite: the portion is just right, just right, as if chef Diego Martínez knew us better than anyone.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly the main course: potato gnocchi and American lamb stew, a mixture of flavors that recalls what it's like to eat well at grandma's house. As if everything was made to cure the scrape that remains as evidence after playing all afternoon. This dish, prepared especially for the festival, makes the diner believe that everything is very good. It might not seem like much, but the gnocchi and stew alone are enough to last all night. However, what would a dinner be without dessert?

The final dish on NIV 's special menu is a pudding with caramel and cream, the fusion of two worlds that are no wonder they get along so well, intertwined for life as siblings. The consistency of the pudding is pleasant even when spooned and has flowers as garnish that, although they add a bitter taste to the dessert, are not to be missed. Although by this stage of the dinner, the special drink is over, we highly recommend the espresso martini or the carajillo, two classics that never seem to be wrong.
