CDMX has as many faces as it has history, and at Local we are always looking for someone who can capture the essence of the city under its own rules and telling a personal version: its photographers.
This week we present the work of Fernando Farfán, who was born in the CDMX but until 9 years ago lived in the EDOMEX; his special focus is on how stealthy the city can be despite being a place of eternal bustle, making it perfect for capturing interior spaces both commercial and design and lifestyle in the capital.
Below is his photo essay and tribute to Centro Histórico in the morning. Learn more about Fernando Farfán's work at @ferfarfan.

"I like to think that my photos convey a bit of peace and quiet, my style I think is something that is evolving every day and I wouldn't want to marry myself to a specific one...I would end up getting very bored."
"I don't like to plan a lot of the photos I take, I think everything comes out better when it's spontaneous."
"I love Downtown, since I was very little I used to go with my parents almost every weekend and it's something I still do and I love to see how it has been changing for the better. I think it's the area where there are more things to see, better restaurants, museums and the most photogenic place in the city."
"What I like most is photographing hotels and architecture, so I always have in mind to capture moments that make you want to be there."
"When I lived at my parents' house [in the Edo de Mexico] I hated the CDMX, it seemed to me the worst city where I could live because I lived four hours away and I was very unhappy and I thought that any other city was a better option to live so I went to Barcelona for a few months and when I came back I moved close to where my job was and I have never thought about leaving again."
