Zombra's graffiti are already part of the capital's graphic art. He belongs to one of the first waves of graffiti artists in the city and belongs to the 246 Crew, one of the most important urban art collectives in the world. He has also exhibited his work in specialized galleries in Mexico and the United States.

Since 10 years ago, when he first appeared on the walls of the city, Zombra has lived up to his name. He does his graffiti at night and hardly anyone knows who he is. Among the little we know about him is an Instagram profile (which is supposedly a tribute) where he uploads photos of all the walls he has painted.

Zombra's strokes are simple, made with the haste of someone who moves in hiding. Although one could confuse him with other graffiti artists in the city, it is difficult to forget when you identify his tag or his bomb that can say "Zombra" or simply "Zo", which he usually draws with a square "zeta" and a round "o". That's the most used bomb by him and it's on practically every wall in the city. That is why some say that his graffiti is already part of the city's folklore.

Sarah Andersen's mural

On January 29, American illustrator Sarah Andersen painted a mural in the Roma and, four days later, Zombra covered it with her signature tag. Sarah is the author of Sarah's Scribblesone of the most beloved comics on the Internet, and for this reason many people were unhappy about Zombra's "intervention".

As always, there were those who defended Zombra and said that it is common for a graffiti artist to cover the tag or murals of other artists. It is something that in the scene is called "stomping" and they do it to challenge other artists to create a conversation through graffiti.

The truth is that, as with most if not all graffiti artists in the city, asking why he painted there and not on another fence is a bit absurd. Graffiti is something you take for granted; it exists because it is part of the city and, like it or not, even if it disappears from the streets, it will be very difficult to erase it from your memory.
