Local Guide for 8M

International Women's Day is commemorated on March 8. Although there are those who consider it a date to celebrate, to receive flowers for being the "most beautiful in the universe" or to congratulate us for "being women", the reality is that it has been consolidated as a day when women and other groups take to the streets to make visible the violence, problems and experiences experienced by women.

The 8M march has become an important event in the city where women from different fields, with different experiences and lives come together and each one, from their different trenches contribute something to this date, for example, there are many artists and illustrators committed to feminist causes so on this date it is common that many of them share illustrations and images to print and use them during the march. Some of our favorites are Paulina Magos, Sofia Weidner, Marbs and Maria Carlock, also this year, Can Can Press proposed an event to print your posters for the 8M march for free.

The march will be followed by the 8M Audiovisual Manifestowill take place, organized by the Helloworld Festival, the CCD y Radio Nopal. What you propose is that, at the end of the march, you go to the esplanade of the CCD - there at the Estela de Luz - where musicians and poets take the microphone and the public can bring their image or video on file and have it projected. There will also be a post-march party at Bajo Circuitowhere Y la bamba, Renee Mooi, Pahua and Doris Anahi will perform.

On the other hand, Incendiary Women presents the 2024 edition of Women Creatorsa meeting of listening, sharing and enjoyment where you can find gastronomic projects led by women as Women of the Earth - who prepare the best tamalitos de elote and corn bread you'll ever taste, Double slice-their floral cookies are incredible- or Farmacia Internacional -already a classic in the city-. There will also be workshops, talks and a small market with many projects led by women. Mujeres creadoras has free admission and will take place on Saturday, March 9 at Public Projectsin Juarez.

Sunday, March 10th, Meow Magazine y Morras on sports convened Trote Entre Amix, a space to run together through the streets of the city, and don't worry if you are not a pro running, all levels are welcome.
