Two days to September 19. The city is preparing for the collapse that we all hope will be exclusively from the spirit and not from underground. A year has passed and we know a little more about facing the tragedy. There is more reliable information, more aid platforms, more citizen organization. One of these hopeful projects is CIUDADADanía19s: 19 civil organizations and citizen collectives for which reconstruction continues.
The spirit of collaboration of 19s must always be replicated, and CIUDADADanía19s is that effort to strengthen the empathy and solidarity born among the rubble. Among social networks, bikes, streets and Whatsapp chains, an alternative city was forged: inclusive, active, resilient... The reconstruction for that city is not only of spaces but of ideas.
Four major faults cross the muddy and weak subsoil of this city built on water. To think that it will not shake again or that we are prepared for the risks is unfounded. When rebuilding we need, better than anyone, to know the procedures and processes, to watch closely, to prepare ourselves with information.
