La oferta de Archivo Diseño y Arquitectura casi siempre es de lo más estimulante en la ciudad. Su nueva exposición, Archivo(s) Centro SCOP, habla sobre el famoso Centro SCOP (de la Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Obras Públicas): una de las obras más ambiciosas de la época del “milagro mexicano”, hecha en 1954 por el arquitecto Carlos Lazo, quien dirigió la misma secretaría durante tres años.
Hoy el Centro SCOP está revestido de murales de piedra, mosaico y conjuntos escultóricos de artistas como Juan O ‘Gorman. Sin embargo, el edificio quedó muy afectado por los 19s de 1985 y 2017 y su futuro es incierto. Quizás tenga que ser demolido.
En Archivo(s) Centro SCOP, artistas como Isauro Huizar, Pablo López Luz, Pedro Reyes, Tercerunquinto y Virginia Colwell reconstruyen la memoria de este proyecto y especulan –desde el arte contemporáneo– en torno a la importancia de la conservación del patrimonio moderno en una coyuntura de urgencia.

La revista Terremoto ha llegado a su onceava edición y para lanzarla organizó una fiesta en el Centro de Salud. A esta fiesta de la semana del arte todos estamos invitados, no hay listas ni “VIPs”.
En el line up están Dj Giner de los Ríos, Dj Guapis y un invitado especial. En el backroom del venue tocará Clemses.

Desde hace unos años, los días que van más o menos del 1 al 11 de febrero se han reservado en la ciudad como “la semana del arte”. Digamos que todo gira alrededor de Zona Maco, la Feria de Arte MATERIAL y ferias más accesibles como Salón ACME y la nueva Arte10.
Además de estas 4 ferias, todas las galerías y algunos museos de arte contemporáneo guardan las fechas en su programa para exhibiciones especiales. STROMBOLI.ASSOCIATES es una nueva marca de diseño contemporáneo en la ciudad. Su intención es hacer y vender objetos que sean “únicos, inesperados y que exciten la imaginación”. Lo mejor es que los precios son accesibles, al menos para ser piezas de diseñadores tan buenos como con los que colaboran.
El fundador de Stromboli es Clemence Seilles y en este pop up que tendrán en Momo Room habrá piezas de algunos de nuestros diseñadores y artistas favoritos: Fabien Capello –diseñó la nueva sala de lectura de Archivo–, Gwladys Alonzo, Ricardo Rodríguez Elías, Kueng Caputo y del fundador.

Tiny Splendor es un colectivo de publicaciones en Berkley y Los Ángeles que por un día tendrá un pop up store en uno de los proyectos de publicaciones más padres de la ciudad: la RRD, un puesto de revistas afuera del metro Juanacatlán, donde se venden e intercambian publicaciones de artistas, poesía, libros de viejo, fanzines, reediciones, reimpresiones y copias.
Tiny Splendor y la RRD tienen todo en común: las crearon amigos para compartir sus trabajos y obsesiones con la tinta y el papel. Checa aquí algunas de las publicaciones que podrás encontrar en el pop up.

Yu Yu es el nuevo venue de fiestas en el sótano de una casa del siglo XIX en la Juárez. Tiene un programa variado de música electrónica tanto local como internacional. El jueves tocarán tres excepcionales: Tin Man de Viena, LDY Osc de Brooklyn y AAAA de México.

Lagos es un nuevo espacio de estudios y residencias para artistas en la colonia Anáhuac. Ahora tendrán una primera colaboración con P.A.P.I. (Programa de Arte Público Independiente), UV (espacio artístico de Buenos Aires) y FE Fair Entrepreneur.
P.A.P.I. presentará una instalación que mezcla escultura digital, sistemas de circuitos análogos y performances. UV, por su parte, un performance del argentino Julián Sorter, una instalación de video del dúo argentino Lolo&Lauti y un video del uruguayo Emilio Bianchic.
La exposición permanecerá abierta hasta el 17 de febrero, de 13 a 19 hrs.

BONITA es una nueva fiesta mensual en la ciudad, que traslada el salón de belleza a la fiesta; que invita a los asistentes a celebrar y explorar la feminidad sin importar su género u orientación sexual. Esto a través de la música, el maquillaje y otros ritos de la belleza.
La música es para bailar y estará a cargo de los djs más representativos de la comunidad queer: en esta ocasión tocarán Dj Guagüis, Derré Tida, Gvjardo y Mataputos. La dirección del programa la hace el dramaturgo Pepe Romero, director de Fancy Lupe.

La segunda semana de febrero, La Red Internacional De Periódicos Callejeros homenajea el duro trabajo que hacen los más de 9,000 vendedores que existen en el planeta.
Mi Valedor se une a la celebración y ha organizado la tercera edición de #VendorWeek: una venta masiva de revistas donde todos se pueden unir a los valedores y salir a las calles a vender las revistas.
El dinero recaudado se irá al fondo de ahorro de los valedores, para que puedan cumplir las diferentes metas con las que han trabajado en cada uno en los talleres que se imparten semanalmente.
